Dinner and Movie Screen
Buffet dinner and Movie Screen of Code Blue at Sky International Vegan, South San Francisco. Code Blue reveals lapses in the current state of medicine and provides a common sense solution by featuring the practice of lifestyle medicine to prevent, manage and reverse chronic diseases. The film presents the hurdles to the proposed shift: antiquated curricula in medical schools, confusion in the media, inadequate government policies, and the underlying influences of the pharmaceutical and food industries. World Day for the End of Speciesism
Are you interested in protecting all animals and promoting veganism?
SFVS has been invited to participate in the 11th World Day for the End of Speciesism by organizing a public event to stand up for animals. We will take this opportunity to join a global demonstration and promote our upcoming 26th Annual Vegan Festival on November 1. We will gather at Union Square for an hour with our signs and hand out flyers for our Vegan Festival. Around 5 pm, we will go to dinner at one of the near by vegan restaurants. The Sonoma County VegFest is the North Bay Area’s fantastic and fun celebration of compassioante eating and living. SF World Vegan Fest
World Vegan Day is a global event celebrated annually on 1 November. Vegans celebrate the benefits of veganism for animals, humans, and the natural environment through activities such as setting up stalls, hosting potlucks, and planting memorial trees. 26th Annual San Francisco World Vegan Festival will be celebrated on the World Vegan Day.

As of 7/2/2025, we have reached the maximum capacity, and the RSVP is now closed. We will have a lot more events coming up, so please be sure to read your monthly Newsletter and sign up early! Thank you.
Let’s fire up the grills and celebrate July 4th! The cookout will be held in the spacious backyard of SFVS Member Mike D. An array of veggies, plant-based burgers and links, salads, and desserts will be served. Suggested minimum donation will be $10 per person, with all proceeds going to SFVS. We are seeking volunteers who are able to donate desserts, fresh produce for grilling, help with setup and/or cleanup. Northern California Soy and Tofu Festival
The Northern California Soy and Tofu Festival, a celebration of the joy of soy, returns Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., to The Event Center at St. Mary’s Cathedral. The event features cooking demonstrations, live music and dancing, food and arts & crafts vendors, and a youth art contest.

June 11th: Whole Food Plant-Based (WFPB) Meetup (virtual, RSVP via Eventbrite. This meeting will be an opportunity for members who are either already following a whole food plant-based lifestyle or are interested in learning more about WFPB to get to know each other and discuss possible future events with a WFPB focus.

Goatlandia Volunteering
Our first 2025 animal sanctuary volunteering event! We will be going to Goatlandia Farm Animal Sanctuary and helping out with taking care of the animals 🐑🐐🐖🐄.

National Animal Rights Day
The National Animal Rights Day (NARD) is an annual day observed in more than 50 countries around the world, on the first Sunday in June, for the purpose of giving a voice to all animals and raising awareness for their rights.

Thornton State Beach Hike
Member hike hosted by Melinda Hamm and Rachel Bordoli at Thornton State Beach. This will be a leisurely 1.5 hour hike with beautiful ocean views. Be aware that the terrain is uneven and there are some steeper sections. Meet at the Thornton State Beach parking lot (Google Maps directs to this location).
If the lot is full, you can find parking on Olympic Way. No need to RSVP for this event but if you need directions or to let us know you’re running late, please email membership@sfvs.org.

World Vegan Fest!
San Francisco Vegan Society’s World Vegan Fest is one of the largest and longest-running vegan festivals in the United States. This award-winning event celebrates 25 years of promoting healthy, ethical, and sustainable living through a vegan diet and a cruelty-free lifestyle. World Vegan Fest features renowned speakers, demonstrations by top vegan chefs, cruelty-free vendors, lively entertainment, and an incredible variety of delicious vegan food.
World Vegan Fest will be held at the San Francisco County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park (1199 9th Avenue in SF!) on Sunday, October 20, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
